ABOUT
Singing Mountain is a (mostly) weekly podcast about video game music, hosted by Drew Mackie. Check out all episodes here.
The easiest way to get ahold of Drew is via his personal Twitter.
Singing Mountain began on June 11, 2017, initially as a side project, and by the beginning of 2018, it had evolved into its current form: roughly hourlong episodes focusing on a single theme. Because Drew grew up in the ’90s, expect a lot of Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis-era music, but any and all video game music is fair game.
The podcast is based on SoundCloud, though you can also listen to it on iTunes, on Google Play and on Stitcher. You can access the raw RSS feed here. There is also a Facebook page and an Instagram account, and certain episodes get reposted as longplay videos on Youtube.
You can support Singing Mountain on Patreon, and for just $1 a month, you get access to bonus episodes.
Drew also hosts a TV podcast, Gayest Episode Ever, where he gets similarly nerdy about classic sitcom episodes that focus on LGBT issues. Drew also blogged about video game ephemera for years on Back of the Cereal Box, which he swears he’ll update one day.
And yes, the podcast title is a Chrono Trigger reference.
